A working office in the back matter of a book that is mostly index.
rev. May 2026 · ---- · fol. 1Shimin Zhang — software engineer, tinkerer, occasional podcast host.
Shipping software professionally since 2012. Web applications, AI products, a little robotics, a lot of code that had to out-tenure the engineers who came after me[7]. At Charter now, maintaining React Kite — the React component library behind the Kite Design System. Previously at FloQast, where I helped take Variance AI Explanation from prototype to production.
I co-host Artificial Developer Intelligence[3], a weekly podcast about AI-assisted development. I keep a journal[14] / reading log, and tinker with AI projects on the side[18].
Home is the Kitsap Peninsula, with Meg the border collie and Romulus the blue Australian Shepherd[12].
The site is organised as a book’s back matter: the homepage is an index. Start at an entry that catches your eye.
